Quick connectors
« on: September 17, 2004, 02:14:09 pm »
I am wondering what size do joystick and pushbutton microswitch quick connectors/quick disconnects are needed?

Is it 4.8mm/4.7mm spades?

The size of the QD's vary by the manufacturer. My joysticks needed .250" and my buttons needed .187" I don't know about in mm though.

I thought I'd look into it before getting my parts. Now I will wait until I get the joys and buttons.

Americans use inches, mm is what Aussies use but I can convert into mm's. .187" is around 4.7mm.

Thanks. ;-)

Yeah, unfortunately that's true.  I myself prefer to use the metric system as it is an easier, more organized system of measurement.  Back to the sticks though, Happ joysticks use .187 and Ultimarc joysticks I believe, use .250.

I've noticed some microswitch tabs are designed to accomodate two sizes. The tips are narrow, and then it tapers up to a wider width. So, if your quick connects are too wide for the narrow part, just push them further, over the wide part.

NO MORE!!
