Wanted: 2.25 Translucent Green Trackball
« on: September 13, 2004, 10:53:03 pm »
I'm going for a look and that look begs for a backlit green trackball.  I've already got a 2.25 trackball, so all I need is the ball itself.  Browsing the web turned up nothing.  Anybody have any ideas?

(Yeah, I know about the Happ 3" translucent green and may just have to break down and buy one.)

Thanks,
Avery

some ideas for you:
glow-in-the-dark cue ball -- that glow-in-the-dark look is sorta green.  this might work in your favor.

juggling balls -- 2.25" is on the small side for these but you can still find them

"crystal balls" or stone spheres -- somewhat popular on ebay due to their holistic nature and for collectors.  there may be a stone that would look good to you.  i think ulexite is a synthetic material that has that tiger's eye light effect..

clear acrylic ball -- can be obtained from juggling websites and ebay.  i have a laser etched "crystal ball" with a dragon in it that i have lit up with a few red LEDs and it looks pretty sweet.  ended up being a few mm too big for my 2.25" case, but a dremel made short work of that.  definitely would advise against trying to cram a 3" ball in there tho..
