« on: September 09, 2004, 08:24:50 pm »
I just found out area 51 is on the Pc, is this just like the arcade version of the game, has anyone played it? and does anyone know if an act labs gun can be used on it? I was wondering because i know some people say area 51 runs slow in mame, so if thats true for me ill look into buying this.

Area 51 works fine in MAME with a appropriate hardware. 2.4Ghz + 512 MB and have been able to play Area 51 and Maximum Force without slowdown.

Sorry no info on the PC version.

I can't answer your first question, but as far as playing area 51 in mame i have had pretty good service.  I have a AthlonXP 1700+ and i do get some hesitation during an intense scene with 2 players shooting at once.  Other than that it plays fine.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

I have the PC version - it works great with the ACT-Labs lightgun.  It is a little different from the arcade version because it has setup and option menus, but the game play is the same.
