Help with The Simpsons
« on: September 07, 2004, 05:30:04 am »
Good Day!

Anyone knows how to set-up The Simpsons to play in 4player mode? Ive tried to modify the settings (test switch) but I cant find any modification to make it play 4 players simultaneously...is there any modification in the jamma wiring or 3P or 4P wiring harness?

thanks

I believe some Simpsons boards are 2 player and other are 4.

Mame suggests that Simpsons 2 player and Simpsons 4 player are different boards, by the fact that there is a 2 player romset and a 4 player one. methinks the dude has a 2 player boardset.

From what he says it sounds like he's talking about an actual Simpsons game, not a rom.

Everybody, all the settings, all the dip switches, all the press tab (yeah, on a PCB) in the world isn't going to help this guy.

The Simpsons 2 player is not the same PCB as The Simpsons 4 player. Same thing with most of those Konami games, they have different boardsets for 2 player and 4 player and you can't romswap them because of different security chips.

In short, he has a 2 player board, and it isn't going to magically become 4 player because it isn't a 4 player board.

Actually, only one person actually said to press tab or mess with the dip switch settings.  Not everyone misunderstands how to interpret.
