Fixing scratches

Anyone know how to fix deep scratches in laminate?

My cab is in pretty good condition, but has a few large goughes on the sides.

Should I find some way to fill them in, find new laminate, or use wood putty and paint the whole sides?

My painting never turns out very even...

Looks like the cab needs a few stripes on it....IF you know what I mean?

I can't tell exactly where on the cab the gouges are; but if you fill them with putty, etc... sand them flush, and then put vinyl over the top to stripe it, you should be OK.

I can't tell exactly what color your cab it (white in a dark room? black with a bright flash?) but it looks like a pretty standard color. I could swear I've seen this stuff at Home Depot, and if it's not a custom color, maybe you could find it?

I'm curious to hear the answer, as I chipped my laminate in a few places filing out the trackball hole and would like to give this repair compound a try.
