Please Help me make sure my JAMMA cabinet is wired up properly.
« on: September 05, 2004, 03:42:48 pm »
Hi everyone. I have a Jamma cabinet and it works great, the games play good on it, but I just wanted to make sure everything was wired up the right wayand that I didn't reverse the polaritri somewhere, so I'll just ask some of the questions I need to know the answers to.

1.) Does the "FG" on the power supply have to be hooked up to earth ground, or is it ok without it hooked up?

2.) This is also about the power supply box for the game board. I have 2 AC inputs on the power supply box with one tab having neutral and the ther tab having positive power. The tabs do not state  anything like negative or positive. Like I said though the game works good. This is an old Time Pilot power supply if that helps. I need to know if the neurtal and positive have to go on one way, or if there is a way to tell?

3.) I need to know if the isolation transformer is hooked up ok.

Currently I have the bottom tabs of the isolation transformer running to the monitor.

A sticker on the transformer reads:

Competitive Products
Tullytown PA
P/N 02-0010

PRI: 120 V  60 Hz
SEC: 120V 100 VA (TOP)

like I said I have the monitor hooked up to the bottom tabs.

Also, should I put the positive lines on the top left/ bottom left....or the  top right/botom right posts of the isolation transformer?

thanks!

You say it's working?  Sounds like you got it right.

There's a wiring diagram on Bob Roberts site for a JAMMA setup.  Follow that, and you should have no worries.
