Mamemarquees.com PROBLEM *******
« on: September 05, 2004, 03:43:16 am »
I sent my CPO design to Scott to get printed, and here is the problem.

The file is in Adobe Illustrator CS. He has Illustrator 10 and the file will not open.

He wanted me to convert the file to Photoshop file, but doesn't this reduce the quality over Illustrator? Am I going overboard in wanting to keep in Illustrator format for printing?

I want the highest possible quality with NO COMPROMISE. Will this be a compromise?

Thanks,
Craig

how about saving as an eps file? You at least used to be able to save for older versions of illistrator that way.

I do a lot of my control panel and marquee designing in Illustrator then export the art to Photoshop at 300 dpi cmyk and add more effects to it. I wouldn't worry about bad quality unless you're making some large side art. If you were going to have your control panel screen printed to an overlay you might want vector art though.

Can't you just save the file down?

I do it all the time.

You can save it as a PDF if nothing else needs to be done and he should be able to print from it.

"File" "Export" "Illustrator Legacy"

If you can't be a good example at least try to be a horrible reminder.
