spare wood (MDF)
« on: September 02, 2004, 12:20:56 pm »
Hey all,
I'm stalled on building my cabinet.

Apparently, while cutting the top and angled back piece, we inadvertantly cut them out  the wrong way and now, out of 1 sheet of 3/4 MDF, have a couple of pieces too small for a coin door.

I am looking in the DFW area for a partial (half) sheet of 3/4 MDF to finish the construction phase. I'd really hate to go buy ANOTHER sheet of MDF and only use 1/2 of it. Home Depot will not sell 1/2 sheets...

At this time, I don't have the exact measurements, but if anyone is willing/able to help out, I can get them when I get home.

Thanks for your time,

Richard

Thanks,

JackTucky

I've seen half sheets sometimes in their cut out bins.  You could try another HD.  I have like 4 within 10 miles of here.

Edit*  Or, you could find/make a damaged one in their full sheets, and offer to take it for a discount.  That's not right though.   ::)

My home depot sells 2'x4' sheets of MDF as well as full 4' x 8' sheets.  You might want to see if yours does the same.

I've checked bot HD's between here (work) & Home and they don't sell the half sheets. I guess I could check Lowe's...
Thanks,

The Home Depot and Lowes around me both carry the half sheet of MDF.  They also carry it in various widths.  But it's not located with the full sheets.   Check the whole aisle or maybe the next.
