Coin Mech CM01 from Ozstick.com.au
« on: August 31, 2004, 06:36:09 am »
Hi.

I recieved my coin mech today from Ozstick in Australia, and I dunno if it's because I have a head cold at the moment, but I can't work out the thing.

How and where do I fit the leaf spring, and what do I adjust to change coin types?

The internet, hey... so they have that on computer's now???

I have two of these in my cab which I ordered from Chris at Ozstick and they're great. They look ultra close to what was in my cab originally and are set to take 20c coins by default - what would you want to change that for?

I'm unsure about whether or not you can adjust them, all the screws appear to be glued in place from what I see. And from what I can gather, remember this is a universal fitting coin mech -  when operators wanted to change coins in real arcades they simply changed the mech. By that I mean the back part the coin drops through. I've seen various ones selling on ebay that take 10c coins etc. Out of the two in my cab one took $1 coins and the other 20c pieces.

My advice is to ask Chris directly because he's somewhat of a guru and a speedy responder to boot. I could be wrong about what I've said above. Either way, let me know what happens here and if needed I'll drag out my old beaten up mechs and study them too.

Also, I got mine before the microswitch came free, is this what you refer to as the leaf spring? If so look at the pic you posted and on the opposite side there's a plate with two diagonally opposite holes joined at 90 degrees to the mech. I'm guessing it goes there. I didn't have to use it though as my coins fall through a chute below the mech which triggers the switch.

I checked the Ozstick website and they can supply a face for smaller coins on special order. but if you're just wanting to adjust yours to take 10c pieces (I'm guessing) it should be possible I see now.

Yeah, just realised that it only takes 20cent pieces.  Oh well, I was hoping for $1.

When I said leaf spring, yes, I was refering to the microswitch.
