WTB: ?PCB Standoffs suitable for wood
« on: August 30, 2004, 10:59:39 pm »
Ok, I am moving my mobo, ipac, optipac, and pc amplifier directly to the wooden cabinet.  I am looking for about 25 PCB standoffs that are suitable for mounting these pcbs directly to the wooden (3/4" MDF) side of my cabinet.  If you can help me, I would greatly appriciate it.  I am also looking for some kind of strap which I can mount to the wood on my cabinet and then mount my PCI cards to it. (i am not knowledgable enough to fabriate one myself which would be suitable.)  Thanks in advance!

Most cost effective would be to fabricate your own out of cutting the tube of a BiC pen into equal lengths.

Yea, but I would really like to get the "L" shaped ones which could screw in independantly from the screw holding the board.  Thanks.

check out my site in my signature for info on the metal bracket i used to secure the cards...not as hard as you think to make

Why not use a case?  Don't have room?

Yea If I leave it all in the case, my CD-Rom can't open all the way, and I can't plug in my bottom cards (USB) because of a support beam running across the bottom.

Ultimarc sells them but it is probably not worth it unless you are planning to order something else as well.
