WTB: 25" Monitor in DFW
« on: August 30, 2004, 09:25:11 pm »
I have pretty much finished my cab and now all I need is a monitor. Anyone have something reasonably priced in the DFW Area? Im just south of plano.

Good news: I live in Plano and I have 2 25"monitors.
Bad news: Neither one works. :-\

What I'm looking for is a place a round here that can actually fix these things. I'd be willing to sell you one if I could get it fixed (if my brother agrees to it because the monitors are co-owned).

If your interested, www.8liners.com sells them for 225 shipped.  I bought one about a month ago and let me tell you, these are top notch.  Plus has a 6 month warranty.

You might try Cointech in Arlington, they may fix stuff like that.  Or they'll be able to tell you where to go.  There was vendor at the auction that was advertising monitor repair but I can't remember the name.  Cointech's number is 972-438-7894
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

$225 shipped? That might be better than fixing these things. I suppose it all depends on what it costs to fix them.

Did you win it in an auction or but it directly?

Yes 225$ shipped.  They ship forward air so you have to go to one of their terminals but they are everywhere.  Look on www.forwardair.com.

I bought it directly.  19 inch ones are 110 plus 50 for shipping.  if you buy more than one, ask them about a discoount for 2.  They offered me to ship the second one for 25.  I wanted first to see how one was --BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type-- sinking more money in.  The will be my supplier for monitors.  Top quality.

For the 25" monitor, how much of the $225 was the actual cost and how much was for shipping?

I was hopin to find somethin at around 150, which is why I want local, I am also gonna need an ArcadeVGA and I'm already on a tight budget for this stuff now. If cointech can fix those 2 for a reasonable price what would you be willin to sell if for?

I might have a couple by the end of the week. Depends on whether or not I can get someone to part with his "broken" cabs. One original Pac-Man (bad power supply) and an original Tempest (looks like it needs a new cap). I offered him $600 for both and his eyes lit up.

Neither of those would have a 25" monitor though, would they? Tempest is a vector and pac-man is a smaller monitor...
