screen size problem
« on: August 29, 2004, 10:57:37 pm »
I am running Mame32 0.37, i just put a new computer in the cabinet and on some of the games the size of the game is smaller than on my old computer. I am using the same monitor, 21 inch. I tried to change the size in the display section in the properties for the game but the next size up cut off one side of the screen. Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance

Check the "stretch using hardware" box in the properties.  If this box is disabled and you cant check it, then your new video card does not support hardware stretching.

Thanks Whammoed,
The version of mame32 i am using doesn't have the stretch option in it,  I have just down loaded version 0.86 and i tried that and it seems to work, some of the roms don't work in the new version though, do I need different roms. The picture in 0.86 doesn't seem to be as sharp as the old version has it been smoothed out somehow and can I get it back to how it used to be in the old version?
Thanks again
