Attempt # 2. Coin-op express group/container buy.
« on: August 26, 2004, 04:14:02 am »
Hello Everyone,

I am even closer to getting the better part of a container purchase from coin-op express together now, and wanted to extend the following offer to anyone interested:
If your interested in anything from coinopexpress, and want to save LOTS of $$ on shipping, I can help.
Contact me via IM, or in this thread, and I can add you to my upcoming order...

The order will be shipped via cargo container into San Francisco California, and distributed from there.

I know the people outside Ca are thinking "How much will it really save me in shipping, if it has to get shipped twice?"

Well, compared to their(coinopexpress) "small quantity" shipping rates, I think the savings could be quite high if we put a large enough order together.

Already some additional response!

Keep it coming!

You know you guys want one of these!
http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/pcbs/kit/Galaxy_Cabinet_Kit_3525.html

Shipping anywhere from coast to coast once it gets here is only $50!

A brand NEW cabinet, for less than $350, to your door.
Not a bad deal if I say so...

Do you know if these come with the frame for the monitor? I have a 29" tube, but no frame. I noticed the page mentioned it could accomodate multiple sizes of monitors. This usually depends on the included frame and mounts. Every frame is going to be different for every machine, anyways. Would you be able to mix & match in your order? If so, I may be very interested!

I am picking up a 29" candy cab tonight, I can report back and tell you if it uses frames on the tubes or not.

Is it new or used? I found a guy in Houston selling one used for really cheap, but he's not selling it with the frame. That costs extra, and that price isn't posted. Unless I wanted to McGyver a frame for a 29" beast of a monitor, I'm kind of needing that frame.

Yeah, that one. I have a 29" monitor, and though I'm not the biggest fan of candy cabs it looks like the best option for me.

You know what? Maybe it's not 29"... maybe it's 27"... crap now I gotta go check.

That guy

That auction is annoying. First the guy takes the monitor and chasis out of the cab. Then he proceeds to sell them in sepearate auctions. Now if you try to buy the monitor he will only throw in the chasis if you use the buy now price which is like 450 dollars. GUtting a perfectly good cab and selling its parts to the highest bidder :(

The control panel. The controls seem very low quality to me, although truthfully I don't notice it when playing games. When and if they wear out then they will be replaced with leaf stuff.

And the question that is on everyone's mind.

The answer is yes and no.

It is hard to rotate the monitor the first time as there are 6 screws inside holding the main plastic front in, then like 12 screws holding the black bezel to that, and then another 4 screws holding the monitor in, and you have to remove the monitor remote control board from its location.

But, once you do all that then it is easy, and for home use you don't have to put any screws back other than the 4 holding the monitor.

ALso on this model the marquee area has a slide out marquee holder than allows you to quickly and easily change the marquee displayed. But that area is much smaller than standard marquees, so you would have to print your own, as you can see the Neo mini marquees are actually too tall for it.

I also have a Super Neo 29, but mine has a different top. It is supposed to house a LCD screen and camera (removed before I bought it).  I have wondered about rotating the monitor, but was a bit scared to try it.

I musta seen 2 dozen different neo29's in my search for a sitdown cab, hell if i know which one was the official 2'nd gen. I think you would be hard pressed to find out for sure as well. But they all are fairly similer anyway. But i prefer sega and taito cabs,

Unless your planning on ordering complete cabinets/with monitors, the additional shipping from Ca to the E. coast shouldn't be horrible.

To make this easier for me to coordinate, please IM me, or email me with the item(s) your interested in.  Please include monitor size(if applicable) and coinops product I.D. numbers. As well as your shipping information.

I will be speaking with coinopexpress on monday (again) and will have more information for you all then.
