I'm new here
« on: August 23, 2004, 11:26:55 pm »
Hello to all.  This is my first post on these forums.  I've been playing games for about 20 years now and it has always been a dream of mine to have my own aracade machine at home.  Ahhh, the memories of pumping quarters into Ms. Pac-man as a kid...  I am excited to get started but unfortunately I don't know much about computers or electronics - I'm a fast learner though.. and I did read the BYOAC book cover to cover already so I have an idea about how this works.  Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself...

Welcome aboard, basically all it is is computer, mame, wood cabinet, controls, interface, and a monitor, its not very complicated. Just resaerch the site alittle and post questions, keep flippin throught the book and youll be fine, it looks hard, but its really not, once again, welcome aboard. ;)
Coming soon: 4 player mame cab and Scratch built Moonwalker....Hall of Fame, here I come!

The fun thing about it is that you can make it as simple or as elaborate as you want!  The possibilities are endless... good luck with whatever you decide to create!

And some, like myself, are sometimes just full of crap.  ;)

Welcome aboard, regardless :)

Thanks guys!  ;D

I hope to get started in the coming months with my project - right now I'm gathering as much information as I can and I'm trying to decide exactly what I want.  Ultimately, I think I want an upright cabinet similar to the one LuSiD designed and is featured in the BYOAC book with maybe a few small modifications... I'm sure once I do start I'll have a million questions...

Yea, I've been doing that for...<looks at watch>...three years now.  I'll get around to putting all this stuff together eventually.  ;D
