i've acquired a cabinet that i want to convert into a mame machine. it used to be a 10 yard fight (same cab as qix and zookeeper).
i plan on mounting a 19" tv but don't want to remove it from the case. after searching around it seems most people accomplish this by building a shelf and then shimming the monitor in with wood blocks. unfortunately for me, this style cab has the monitor at a 60 degree angle (approximately) so i won't be able to use the standard shelf method. so far the best idea i've had is to get someone to hold up the tv in the cab and attemp to make a v shaped cradle to set it in. does anyone have any experience doing this or any better ideas?
i want to reuse the cp mounting system to maintain the original shape of the cab. this limits me to just under 23 inches in width and 7 inches in height to work with. actually, due to blocks underneith i believe its more like 19 inches in width. will this be enough space to place 2 joysticks with 3 buttons apiece? my main concerns are the people being too close together and player 1 not having room for his hand due to the raised side design of the cab. i attached a rough picture of what i am thinking of trying (1 inch grid) below. once the parts get here i will try some mock ups but was wondering if anyone had done anything similar.
thanks
