How are these Arcade/PC games?
« on: August 19, 2004, 07:52:09 pm »
I was wondering if anyone has these arcade to pc remakes on there cabs...

Mortal Kombat 4
House of the Dead
House of the Dead 2
NFL Blitz
NFL Blitz 2000
Golden Tee Golf

Do they look and play like the real arcade versions? any differences? are the graphics and speed still good? Do they work well with the controls ect.?

I have house of the dead, although it was like a ripped/downloaded copy or something. Not too bad.

NFL Blitz works real well.  I haven't tried 4 players yet, but hope to using some sidewinders.

Is it very hard too.....

Get trackball to work for golden tee pc....

Get buttons and joysticks to work for Blitz and MK4....

Get Act Labs TV lightgun to work with house of the dead....

Thats my plan now. Just wanna know how complicated it is.

All of the above are easy to use controls with

House of the dead supports actlabs gun, if it didnt act-labs guns works as a mouse.

Trackballs are seen as a mouse. Native control for golden tee = mouse

buttons and joys for Blitz! = configurable.

Shouldnt this question be in the software section?

Does anyone have "Sinistar Unleashed" ? If so is it anything at all like the original or is it beyond recognition other then the name ?

Thanks

This sequel is just a use of the name

You can see some screenshots here

I loved the original game and probably dropped enough money in the local machine to have purchased it when the game was new. This one, I played for about 1hr as its not a bad space shooter with cool flare effects, but thats about it.

What do you mean by Configurable, sorry if some of you think thats a dumb  question lol, but i dont know, and does anybody know if MK4 is like the arcade version? Basically I want people to think all these new games i listed are the real arcade version when they see them being played, because i want everyone to think this is a real arcade machine.

Configurable meaning that you can configure and assign buttons via the game not the encoder and not via a front end.

I'm not sure why I am bothering, but here is a web page that shows you great screenshots of the action and a good write up on Mortal Kombat 4

URL

I got this link by doing a very basic google search.

Remember Google is your friend.

I am in the process of acquiring MK4 and will let you know how configurable and comment on control.

Golden Tee is accurate to say Golden Tee 99. House of the Dead plays nicely on the PC with the act-labs and you wouldnt see much difference in gameplay. Blitz is a very good port of the arcade game.

Why would I bother searching myself though if I can just get Gozur to do it for me.   What's the URL for Google again? I always forget it.   ;D

MK4 is configurable

from the game press f2 and a game options menu will be presented and the first option is keyboard.

Here's a screen shot:

Picture an arcade game....not just any arcade game, but an arcade game that will play Mortal Kombat 4, NFL Blitz, and House of the Dead all with the click of a mouse.  Now, picture that very game in your [insert room here]....

....and that's about how it looks, my friend.

This thread has become a waste of time.

Play whatever game you want on your cab that likely isn't even built yet.

The screenshot I provided was from it running on one of my machines. I didn't bother configuring it prior to the screenshot. As I don't care to play it.

I have played the others on one of my cabs and they play well.

Hopefully I will find the stregnth to resist the urge to reply to any of your posts.

OK, on this computer that runs XP PRO I am on now...

House of the Dead 2 runs ok.

NFL Blitz-When I put Cd in it auto runs and tells me to click install, and i do, then it shows the hour glass like its loading and nothing happens, like it starts to install but never does, anyone know what i can do to fix this..?

House of the Dead 1- when i click install nothing happens.

Golden Tee Golf-installed ok, but when i clicked on the icon with the cd in my drive to play it, the screen goes black like its going to start, then nothing happens, it freezes like that and i have to restart my computer... any ideas?

Really wanna get these running, any suggestions are welcome.
