Well, I did it... I ordered a mini-pac (w/o harness), a t-stik, and a t-stik plus.  Looks like I'll be building my first CP soon!  Of course there is still lots to do.  I need to order buttons, start designing a layout, blah, blah, blah.

Thanks to all who have posted such helpful info on this board!

After you make a mock up make sure and give some pics to help with suggestions.  Congratulations, the outcome is well worth the effort.  I have three roomates here at Florida State University and the machine has not been turned off since it got here.  GOOD LUCK!

Well, my Ultimarc order arrived today!   ;D
I got a whole bag of buttons the other day as well.  I still haven't designed my CP layout, but I just got a bunch of buttons in different colors.  I'm sure I'll find a use for them all.
I've also got a new complete set of ROMs that should arrive in the next day or two.  My current ROMs are from '97 or '98.

I can't wait to get this thing going!  I still haven't "negotiated" a position for a full cabinet yet.  Our house is quite small.  Looks like I may have to start construction on that game room in the basement sooner that I thought.  For now I'll just have to live with a control panel only.

what type of cab are you considering?

a cocktail cab might be a good choice if space is limited - plus has added feature of being somewhere to rest your beer ;D

if you like fighting games put a 3rd CP on it.

here is an awesome example (but larger than most cocktails)...

if you dont want to do a custom build - kits are available from http://www.arcadedepot.com from what i've seen on here they give really good service.
