Cabinet questions...
« on: August 27, 2002, 03:49:35 pm »
I'm new to the whole MAME thing...  I have a chance to buy 2 cabinets that I would like to turn into MAME cabinets.  The cabinets are both from Bally Sente from 1985.  One is the game Gimme A Break, and the other is Mini Golf.   Does anyone know the dimensions of the cabs and what size monitor could I fit into it.  Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

My old stand up cab was a Bally Sente one before I converted it. It was a hockey game, "Hat Trick" or something. It took a 19inch VGA Arcade monitor without any problem. I don't think a 27 inch will fit. I've got pics on my site if you want to see if the cab looks the same.

If it's the same and you want specific mesaurements, just email me and I'll go in the basement and take them.

Yep, form the pictures I've seen of the Mini Golf game, it looks pretty much the same as your cabinet.  I'm going to check them out after work today.  From what I've been told the cabs are a little beaten up and the games don't work, but I can probably get them for $25 a piece!

Cool. If you run into any probs, let me know.

the only pain my fanny was the metal control panel, I ended up building my own and adding it as I wanted a custom one.

Good luck!
