japanease card reader?
« on: August 18, 2004, 04:25:35 pm »
i got my egret2 outta storage and was working on my control panel last night and decided to make some room and took out what i believed to be a card reader of some sort. it has three boards one has a counter and infered reciiever/transmitter,another card that i had no clue what it did, and the card accepter itself. They where all conected to each other and took alot of space in the control panel. Thought i would post a few picks before i put it in a box.

im glad you broughtthis up, i was wondering the same thing. Was oging over an Egret replacement parts manual and noticed those very items and wondered what exactly they are for..
saving games, credits, high scores.. and what games supported the feature?
and Infa Red? what for? was it for book keeping?
im very curious.
i just bought an egret and would love to knwo just what its capable of.

Didn't some of the Japanese CPS2 boards have card readers that you could take with you so you can keep the game stats as you change machines?  Like MvC2 and the unlocked characters.
Still in the collecting parts and ideas phase of cabinet building.
