A few Questions
« on: August 17, 2004, 11:35:47 am »
Hello everyone I am new to all of this still and have a few questions.

1. Which games would be the hardest on my computer?
( I want to know this for testing reason. I have an extra computer and want to see how it can handle the most intense games)

2. Do CHD games need more ram to run best or a faster CPU?
(I'm sure both are good, but if I were to upgrade which would be a better upgrade solely based upon CHD games)

3. I have an old cabinet that I was given. The inside dimensions are 24". I want to make a 2-player 6 or 7 button control panel. Based on past experience Is it comfortable to fit this panel into 24" or should I extend my control panel past edge of the cabinet?
(Looks aren't much of a worry on this cab, it is my first and I am taking it as a learning experience)

Thanks in advance to any help offered

San Francisco Rush
Blitz
etc.
(but those won't run on a 4 Ghz machine, so it doesn't much matter.

For testing, probably Area 51/Maximum Force, MKII/MK III, etc.

I'm not positive, but I would say you want at least 128M Ram for Win98, 256M for XP, once you hit that, processor speed will help more.  Never use more than 512M with Win98, with XP, the sky's the limit.

Best I can tell you is to make a mock-up out of foam board or cardboard and test it out.

My desktop controller will be similar to that and 24" wide, but I don't mind it being a little cozy.
