Help....Which cabinet do i use???
« on: August 16, 2004, 11:04:58 pm »
I recently purchased a cabinet (no idea what it is). Anyway its an upright cabinet that came with everything except internals. It reasonable condition. I have since sanded, and prped the cabinet and am almost ready to order graphics and controls.

I was just in at the local arcade and the owner said he would sell me this smaller, sit down and play machine. They are made of metal, are a really solid constructions, and comes with everything except monitor and game board. Now i need to decide if i should buy this one and mame it, or use the one i have.  I kinda like the idea of sitting down at the cabinet.

Any ideas guys. Thanks

Why not do both? Make the sit down one a normal one, and make the other one a vertical screen one.

yeah i am starting to think i should just buy it. I was impressed with the one i just lokoed at (sit down) because it came with a 6 button per player and joystic CP ....All it needed was a sanding and a respray cause it has some cigarette burns in it. But its all metal and no rust what so ever. I mean its only $100 (AUS)

Then just grab it too. You can do two mames, or get a real monitor and use one for real PCBs.

The only thing i am a little worried about is working with metal. E.g. If i need to make a shelf, etc. I dont have a wielder.

You can always use wood on the inside.

I'm curious as to what game this would be that is made of metal? Doesn't sound like any "standard" video game. (Maybe it's a kiddie ride type of machine??)

NO MORE!!

He seems to be in Au, likely a L&A generic lowboy or a Japanese cabinet. I have seen quite a few metal jap cabs.
