Any other places for coin doors?
« on: August 16, 2004, 12:47:17 am »
Where else can I buy a coin door(besides Ebay) other than HAPPS? Happs site is confusing me. Im not sure exactly which one I need. I just need a simple 2 coin insert door. Not the really tall/long one. Just one that is 10X10", or so. Could you send me in the right direction. Also, cheap is good. :)

Wait, I think I found what I need. Will this work for my cab? To hook into my IPAC2? Is this all I need?

http://www.happcontrols.com/coindoors/40051400.htm

Crap, this one doesnt come with the actual coin exceptor? I have to buy it seperate?

One more thing. Is there ANY way to make it so when you put a quarter in, it shows up as 4 credits in mame? I want 4 credits per quarter. How, or can I do that?

Believe it or not, your best deals are probably on eBay. For instance some of the eBay stores like MultiTech have awesome deals on new coin doors like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=3293759934&tc=photo

I know you said not eBay, but I think most people associate the coin doors on ebay as fixer uppers.

From What I've seen, most do not come with coin boxes. All you need to do is put a metal can or something similar under it to catch the coins. The one you mentioned from happs seems to be what you're looking for. It has a coin box and says it comes with a coin mech or you can add the bill validator for only an extra $500.00.

lol, nah I dont need a $500 dollar bill validator. Just coins. But I think its saying it has the universal mech holder, and doesnt actually come with one. Or am I just reading it wrong? If it doesnt come with one. Could some one point me to one for it. cheap, and nothing fancy.

Will this one work with that coin door? Also, would I have to get 2 of these? One for each coin slot?

From what the description says it comes with the coin mechanisms ..."Fitted with $.25 U.S. Coin Mech". The universal mech holder they are referring to means it will accept any standard coin mechanism. This is if you want to change the coin mechanism to tokens or some other type of coin. The same coin mechanisms have been built the same way for something like over 20 years if not longer, these are the industry standard.

I forgot to add that first coin door you were talking about appears to come with everything you need. If you order the 2 coin door, it should come with 2 X $.25coin mechs. You should not have to purchase anything else. But just to make sure that everything is included, I would e-mail Happs and ask.

I know you said you didn't want a tall over/under coin door, but I do have a few new Happs over/unders that I could sell you a little over half what they are asking for the mini over under.

They are new but have a few slight scratches and paint chips from being shipped around.  They do come with two 25 cent coin mechs, 2 sets of keys, and coin tub.  If you reconsider and have any interest, let me know.

By the way, because these doors came from Happs as well, I can say with high confidence that the mini you are looking at does come with 25 cent coin mechs and the coin tub.

One last thing, my coin doors will run $50 + $14 Shipping UPS.

I'll vouch for mp2526.  He sold me a coin door a few weeks ago.  He shipped it VERY fast and was *extremely* helpful.

I'd very very highly recommend him.

:( The only reason I said no tall over/unders is because I only have 18" of space on the front of my cab. So they would be too tall. Or I would jump on your coin door in a second. :( Thats why Im deciding on this over/under mini. Thanks though mate.

I emailed Happs, and they like you guys said. They do come with the coin mechs.
