PC heat inside cabinet and other pc question
« on: August 15, 2004, 11:54:54 am »
I have finished building my cabinet (UAII), just need to paint it and put on the CP. I need some help on the PC side of things, as I have two computers that I can use, both about same speed (2+ghz). One is a Shuttle XPC SS51G and the other is a Abit IS& MB in an Antec Quite case. Out side of the that the video card, HD, DVD rom will be the same. I wonder which will fare better inside the cabinet interms of heat. The rear of the cab is open and I will probably put some vents at the bottom for airflow.

Also both have integrated sound, will this be ok or should I pick up a cheap "good" sound card like a SB or Turtle Beach.

It doesn't sound like you'll have any heat problems with either of those set ups. Neither CPU will be running at anything near 100% for most if not all games.

Yeah even thought I may try and play a few of the HD games, which should give the computer a work out it's not like I would even be playing them for hours at a time. The rest of the time when I am playing hours upon hours of tempest and crystal castles I guess I will be ok.

Thanks
