Bad dealings with member Demon-Seed
« on: August 13, 2004, 09:05:52 am »
When I was first building my Mame upright, in the early months of 2003, I needed some RAM chips for the PC I was building.

Demon-Seed had advertised two 256M RAM chips, among other parts.  We made a deal, I believe it was $60 for both chips.  This was around the going price for two 256M chips at the time.

The chips arrived, all the way from Canada, in nothing but a small padded bag.  Immediately I was concerned about whether or not they had been damaged.  I was also concerned that this might have just been an attempt to sell already damaged goods.

Sure enough, only one of the RAM chips works.  The other one gives a RAM error when the PC is booting.  I have tried it in other machines, with the same problem.  It is not a compatibility problem - the chip is bad.

Demon-Seed seemingly disappeared from this forum for over a year, just after this sale.  I send him a message on here but it went unanswered.  After the year passed, I noticed him posting again.  I told him about the RAM situation.  He suggested that the chips may have gone bad or they were incompatible.  I assured him it wasn't a compatibility problem, because I tried the chips in other machines with the same results.  That was the last communication.

I just thought I'd let others know about this, as a warning about poor packaging, if nothing else.  I suppose it was a relatively cheap lesson for me.

Wow.  We're sure that you're intentions are honest.  I mean, to warn everyone 1 1/2 years later.  You must have been like working with both the US law inforcement and the RCMP this whole time to make sure this horrible, horrible seller never harms anyone again. ::)

All sarcasm aside.  SNAAKE has already posted his response to Demon-Seed's thread aimed at him and has left it alone since.  You posting what's obviously coming across as just "Well, you posted a message about so and so, now I'm gonna post one about you that's irrelevant and petty."  Like MnMCaputo said, grow up.

You hit the nail on the head. :)Wade
so the lesson we should all learn from this is....don't buy anything from Demon-Seed, Snaake, or Wade...actually, scratch snaake from that list....otherwise, if we do, prepare to be posted about.

I think the lesson I'll take away from all this is to never buy something from anyone here with a D or E in their nickname...or anything with an A-C or F-Z.  ::) ::)

Local Canadian Cop are just called Cops

Mounties are part of the RCMP and are similar to the US Rangers or FBI.

I once seen a cop with a tie clip that had a little pig on it. I asked him about it he said when you hear "look out here comes the pigs" all the time he thought it would be funny to have it. So here's a list of cop names:
police
constable
screws
pigs
