Dude that's verging on spam

Damn that was rude Apollo and coming from someone with over 1K posts.. all non spam or what? After glancing at just your last 50 posts .. I'd say this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Are you just trying to increase your post count or do you really feel that being mean like this will somehow improve the board for someone? Or maybe it was sarcastic and I missed it, if so I'm sorry.

And Pixel those things arrive a lot sooner than you would think. I was really surprised when I got mine so quickly here in the states.

WTF? I was certainly not being sarcastic. Imagine if everyone here started a new thread when they ordered a part.

Wahoo just ordered some joysticks!
Yay just ordered a spinner!
OMG I just ordered some quick connects!
Ooooo my cup-holders are on the way!

I resent that. Just because someone had 1000+ posts doesn't mean they spam it just means they have been around for a while and are active on the forum.

I know it's exciting when you first start out in this hobby but gimme a break I hardly flamed him.

Well after discovering MAME not so very long ago ( about 4 months ) and deciding like soooo many others that I need a cabinet, it arrived.
NZ$60 delivered ( approx US$35 ) including smoked bezel, street fighter style controls and coin mech ( good deal! ).
It will have 19" horizontally mounted monitor, another control panel, ArcadeVGA & IPAC. NO Trackballs or spinners for me ( don't need them ). It will have pull out keyboard. PC will run WinXP, I have bought 450MHz p3 with 256 RAM and 10 Gig HD. Motherboard has spare slot for ArcadeVGA card.
I will submit the completed project but it will take approx 4-6 months as funds are very low.
Here is a pic.

Okay okay lets stop arguing guys.  No need to start something here or prove anyone right or wrong or whatever.  Its just a waste of time and energy.

wow ok ThePaul... calm down dude.

For one, Apollo's post that you use as evidence at least explains what he got, how he got it and gave us a picture.... as opposed to saying "I got a cab, yey! end of post"  There really is no comparison between the two posts, and if you can't see that, check again.

Maybe Apollo shoudln't have responded the way he did, but maybe PixelCloud could have just mentioned his order in his other post.... I think that's the point Apollo was trying to make.

Maybe some people here should go to Gen[M]ay and let out some aggressions....
first off your and idiot

Pointdablame, hey man I am calm. I just think it is kind of mean for people to jump on newbies for being excited about the hobby, or posting something that might be considered as spam. I am not taking out any aggressions ...

You are right there is no comparison between the post from Appolo when he was a noob and Pixel's... Pixel's post actually contained a question.

I don't see anything wrong with either of these guy's posts. And I think Appolo is a great guy and helpful to many people with questions. I do however, think that he and other people that have been around for a while have lost sight of the purpose of this hobby and more specifically this forum. I thought the purpose was to have fun.. and help others to do the same.

We were all noobs once (some of us still are), but what good does it acomplish to give someone a mean response? Which, is exactly what I am doing and I appologize for it and will not post in this thread again.

Fair enough, I may have jumped on him a bit quickly.
No hard feelings everyone I hope.
It is pretty darn exciting, wait till his stuff actually arrives!

ya know... PixelCloud... I'm mighty upset at you.

You neglected to tell me that well was so DAMN deep.  I sprained my ankle on the way down, and had quite a time getting back up.

Next time, let me know what I'm in for at least... sheesh......

Hey,

I'm from LA and I've never seen a real cobblestone cliche well.  Do those things still exist?   If not how is a short guy that weighs 250 like myself ever going to get the 'fall down' experience?

Thanks
