Twin Eagle Cab - part deux
« on: August 12, 2004, 04:21:29 pm »
For those that didn't see my first post, I bought a Twin Eagle cab for $30 and I am wondering the following:

A) Is this cab from another game?  Frogger?  etc?

B) I am converting it to MAME with 9 games.  What should be number 9 from:

1) Donkey Kong
2) Donkey Kong Jr.
3) Pac Man
4) Ms. Pac Man
5) Galaga
6) Frogger
7) Dig Dug
8) Burgertime
9) ???

C) What theme would you recommend?

Pics can be found here:

Thanks!

Why would you go to the trouble of making a MAME cab and only have 9 games?  I'm guessing from the games that you are putting a dedicated 4 way only in there.
Anyway my suggestions are

Galaxian
Phoenix
Pleiads
Moon Cresta

Dude, all this time you made it sound like it had wood-grain sides and all that.  ::)  This is NOT a Centuri / Sega / Gremlin cab. I'll give you ONE guess as to who makes this cab... (Hint: It's written in BIG letters on the side!)

Once you figure that out, go to KLOV and search by Manufacturer. Look for the cab that matches your colors. That will tell you what this used to be (and it ain't Frogger).

I did the strike out on that second paragraph cuz KLOV has ALOT of entires to dig through and some are black n white pics. So... You probably won't know what this used to be until you look for labels and sticks inside...

Yeah, I am picking 9 games because I want simple, I want verticle 4-way only, and I want simple.  lol

I already have an idea for the game select...it would show a 3x3 grid of screen shots that you pick with the joystick

I think your cab used to be Elevator Action.

I know that...I meant if there was another game maybe inside before Twin Eagle.    I have looked everywhere inside and there is no reference to another game.  But, I still think it was converted because I don't think Taito made a cab specifically for this game.  Also, there are two speaker holes for a 5" speaker but there is one 7" speaker mounted.

That's GOT to be it.  The cab is identical!

Thanks!

Dude the 4 games that I suggested above are all great and are all perfectly suitable for your cab. Just make a 4X4 grid and you have 16 games. I don't understand your thinking on this one.

ID say Michael Jackson's Moonwalker as the 9th game, it is a classics cab i can see by the other games, and moonwalker is a classic, i think it would go good with the theme.
Coming soon: 4 player mame cab and Scratch built Moonwalker....Hall of Fame, here I come!

Absolutely not, that will be the game mostly played on my mame cab. Ive put all my money into that one machine before at a full arcade. Its very fun, especially when the screen gets dark, the spotlight comes on, and everyone dances.

My thinking is that I have two cabs right now.  One, is a monster MDF cab that will be horizontal based with thousands and thousands of games and lots and lots of buttons.

The other, is this one.  Only has my absolute favs and is extremely simple.
