Instead of going through the hassles of online ordering, is there any place locally, like a Radio Shack or Lowes that might carry these?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

You might be able to get them @ RS.  I looked there for the distro block, but couldn't find one.  I ended up using a barrier strip with 'U' crimp connectors.

Radio Shack doesn't carry either of those. The closes they have for a distribution block is one designed for phone. However all a distribution block is is a place where you can easily tied a bunch of common wires together, so if you really don't want to order from Bob, just try one of those, and use forked (or U or C or whatever you want to call them) connectors on your cable ends.

As for the AC filter, Radios shack has one, but it would take some hacking on as well to use (it's designed to plug into a wall outlet, and then plug another 3 prong device into).

Of course you'll end up paying a lot more than just ordering from Bob.

In the end, you really can't beat Bob Roberts.

The distribution blocks should be available at an autoparts store or farm center, I KNOW I've seen them in the auto/machinery departments.

The Line filter you can easily find them by taking apart almost any electronic consumer device that runs on 120 volts and had a bit of weight to it from the early 80's to mid-90s. (Now they're integrated with the rest of the power board).

Take apart an old PC AT power supply and you'll find it integrated into the port that you plug the power cord into the back. Just clip the wires and pull it out.  You can then even place it on the back of your cabinet and use a standard PC power cord for quick detachment if you need, and have the line filter built in already!

Also take apart any older VHS VCR and you'll find them in those too, along with CD players, amps, etc... They seem to be everywhere in things I've popped open.

Thank you for the suggestions and ideas in hopes of finding these locally.  Looks as if I'm off to place an order with Bob !  ;)

Thanks again,

Michael
