Control reading as stuck
« on: August 08, 2004, 03:17:24 am »
Anyone had the issue of a control within Mame (and mamewah) act like its stuck?  When I use the down on the player1 joystick it continually outputs a down.  I opened up notepad and tried the down and it works fine outside of games (also tried it in IE to scroll down a page).  It only seems to happen in Mamewah frontend and in any Mame / genesis / nes rom.  The only way I can get it to stop is by using up on the stick.

Using an IPAC4

I'm not sure why it would only happen in MAMEs, but have you made sure the down switch on the joystick isn't wired for normally closed instead of normally open?

I'm thinking either 'key repeat rate' or 'typematic rate.'  Does it do it if you just click it once, or if you hold it down?

If it doesn't happen when you click it once, but when you hold it down, your keyboard buffer is filling and youll get that result.
