Inexpensive control options
« on: August 05, 2004, 11:40:59 am »
Hi all,

I'm looking for inexpensive options for controls.   I looked over the Wico website and their prices look good, their product gets good reviews, but their customer service apparently stinks.  Are there any other suppliers who sell decent joysticks, buttons and trackballs for prices similar to the price list on Wico's website?  Please note that I'm not an Ebay user and probably never will be.  Thanks.

Dave

Joysticks and buttons - hard to go wrong with www.therealbobroberts.com
Trackballs - www.ultimarc.com sells a good 2-1/4.  Betson/imperial sells a decent (for the price) 3-inch.
www.oscarcontrols.com for spinners and pre-hacked mice.

For the realbobroberts use this link:

I have had trouble with the other one lately.

Great info guys!  Thanks.

Really like the idea of those Happ joysticks for less than a Wico!!!

I've looked at the Ultimarc trackball, but hate the idea of paying overseas shipping...

Anyway, great info, much appreciated.

Like it or not, ebay is where all the really good stuff is.

Alot of the really good controls (Tron sticks, Wico 8-ways, etc...) can't be had anywhere else because they are not made anymore.
If you are REALLY lucky, you may happen upon a deal from a local supplier, but nobody carries them as a stock item anymore.

i dont think you will get a "better" deal for decent joysticks and buttons than from the x-arcade website.  you get 2 joysticks and 20 buttons, all happ clones, for $20.  and you get to pick any color you want as long as it's black.. ;)
