USB controllers and Mame32
« on: July 30, 2004, 12:14:30 pm »
Just a quick question...

I heard that as long as a USB controller is set as controller number 1 it will work in Mame32... However, what if I want to use two usb controllers in mame32 at the same time (For two player games etc...) Is it possible to have two USB controllers in MAME?

Thanks for the help!

I have done this before without issue.

Ok, cheers...

Also, are there any special settings to change or anything in MAME? Like any ini settings to change so that mame recognizes imput from the usb port or something?

Or can I just plug them in, set them up in windows, and straight away use them in mame by pressing tab and assigning the buttons?

One more thing, if I put in these two controllers, then will I have to set the controls for every game I play? I plan to be playing quite a few games with them, and I didn't want to assign the same buttons over and over for each of the games I plan to play...

Thanks

just plug em in and set the buttons.  If you want to use the controllers for all games just set it in input general.

I have just found out that the controller I want to use (I am putting a gamecube controller through an adapter to the PC and using it in mame) has analogue buttons... Will mame have a problem with analogue buttons? I heard something about digital buttons being better or something

Thanks
