Non-Mame Game: Guardian
« on: July 27, 2004, 10:22:34 am »
I tried Guardian last night and immediately ordered it.  Its a great Defender style game that I saw reviewed on Retroblast.  It works just fine in Mamewah, the one drawback was that the initial menu page can only be navigated using a mouse.  I sent the following and got back an immediate reply.  (I told him I had seen the game on timoproductions and Retroblast)   If anyone else has ordered this game or tried the demo, let their tech support know that this would be a great enhancement to the program!  We should let the game developers know that we exist and have money (well, not so much money or we wouldn't be trying to get so many games for free, plus my cab kinda' set me back abit).  Oh well, we have enough money to buy shareware over the Internet on occasion!!!  Power to the People!

Thanks for the compliment.

I have been thinking about adding such an input system to the game, and I will try to fit it into one of the future upgrades.

Can you tell me the Mame website on which you found a reference to the game?

Great Game!  Can I ask that in a patch, you allow the selection on the main menu to be made by moving the down or up arrow?  I am running Guardian on a Mame Cabinet (I assume you know what that is, if not, let me know) and will be using an arcade joystick to navigate.  I will not have a mouse handy.

Since I found this game on a Mame website, I am sure this would be helpful to a lot of people!

Cool, I'll have to checl that game out (I took a quick look at Kev's review yesterday).

It is a shame so many PC games don't use the same input system as the game for the menu...still, in this case sounds like the developer is pretty open to the idea :)
