Question about wiring
« on: July 22, 2004, 05:44:56 pm »
Is it possible to make a switch that would change player 1 controls to player 2 and vice versa? Or maybe this can be done in software? If it is possible either way, how should I do it?
If it makes any difference the interface I will be using is i-pac VE.

Just hit tab after a ROM has loaded and change the controls in MAME (Can be done on an individual basis or universally).

Edit: Or if you're doing this as some party gimmick, nevermind.

It can be done, it is very complicated on the software side. You basically need to wire a couple of switches that can toggle some otherwise unused I-pac inputs, and have the controls for each player defined specially. It would be a pain in the rear. Not worth the extremely limited use in my book.
