Attaching 2 pcbs
« on: July 20, 2004, 03:20:32 pm »
Does anyone know if it possible to hook up 2 pcbs to one cabinet. I was thinking about doing Donkey Kong and Jr. My thought was that I could hook up both boards to the cabinet and just have a switch on the power to the boards, everything else would be connected all the time. So... if I flip the power switch on the board gets power and plays that game. Turn that switch off and the other one on to play the other game. Will this work?? Has any one tried???
Thanks

That possibly could work.  If they are jamma all you really need to do is shut the machine off, and move the jamma harness over.  Though I'd think it would be possible to hook up a three way switch.

The other alternative is to purchase a multijamma.

Umm, easier thing to do would be one of these.

#1. Sell your Donkey Kong boardset and get a "Double Donkey Kong" kit for your Jr. boardset, which adds the multigame fuction.

#2. Sell both and get that jamma board that has all 3 donkey kongs on it, and run that instead.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

The only problem with this is they still have a probelm with the sound. Walking always sounds like Jr.

I have not seen this board. Where can I find it???

What about 2 boards and 2 Jamma harnesses. Each switch on the CP has a wire going to each board. Then all you need is a 3 position power switch /off/board1 on/board2 on?
Seems like this would work, you could set up multiple boards like this.
Hmmm I'm probably mental.

No it will work
I did that on my first cabinet.  Had 5 PCBs in it.  Hooked that way.  Most expensive part was that damned switch.
