What is a good price for a dynamo showcase cabinet?
« on: July 19, 2004, 08:28:58 pm »
I can acquire a golden tee dynamo showcase cabinet.  I would use it to build myself my custom arcade cabinet, and when the one I am building now is finished, I would sell it.  So I ask whats a good price for that cab.  The monitor and speakers should be working and the cab is in pretty good condition.  Thanks!

For those wondering, here is what the cabinet basically is except the game is Golden Tee.  I believe the monitor is 33 or 34 inches.

i would look at xtremearcades.com...
they quoted me at 550 (350 in peices)  finsihed in your choice of color.

they acutally live around in the area and i hope to check em out.  i'm too dang lazy to build my own even though it would be simple.  my issue is the control panel.. if you ask, they shall make.  they are quick to answer back on the email

Hey Hogan, that looks kick ass.  If you live in or near New Jersey, maybe I could pay you to help me build one  ;D.

Hmmm.  Looks like you could stand to make $30 at least by drawing up some plans hulkster!  ;)
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Hulkster you make the plans and I will host them for free on my website, http://www.ddreastcoast.com.  I am planning on putting my project on the site, so if I decide to make the showcase and sell the one I am building now, hosting your information and pictures would be perfect for it!

cool....i was going to post the dimensions last night, but a virus came to visit both my hard drives on my pc last night (yay) so im having to format and do all kinds of wonderful things so i didnt get to post them.  (oh...yes i have a virus scan, yes its updated, yes i have windows update...i was putting a different OS on...well...long story, dont worry about it  ::))  k, so i might be out tonight buying a dryer with my wife so i dont know if ill have time to fix my pc.  ANYWAY, friday ill have time and it will definitely be ready to go by then, so im hoping i can measure and do that, and start making a temporary web site to host my plans on.  i have 10mb of space with bellsouth so thats good.  anyway, ill keep everyone posted.

Speaking of this, how is both pieces connected together ?
You know..the monitor piece and the control stand.

they arent.  when i built it, i i had all the intentions of keeping them connected in the beginning, but ended up making the cp pedestal part too tall, so i had to trim off a section on the bottom...which was the connector part.  well i had the option of building a carriage bolted connector, but ended up not doing that for fear of it looking all ugly with carriage bolts sticking out.  so its not connected at all!  i built a little bridge type thing that is flush with the monitor pedestal and the cp pedestal and it just sits on the ground covering the wires.  yeah its not the best setup, but it works.  plus i can move the cp if i have to.  in my plans i will recommend not doing the way i did it.
