Used cab oddity?
« on: July 18, 2004, 05:15:12 pm »
I picked up a used Midway 4P style cab yesterday and noticed something thats unusual (to me at least)

Between the flourescent light fixture and speaker is a large cardboard sheet, and its doubtful that its a marquee

Is anyone familiar with these? Is it there to keep the marquee light from emitting through the speaker holes?

Not familiar with it, but it sounds likely.

I've got a Space Attack cabinet that I'm going to have to do the same thing with.  Instead of coming thru the speaker, though, the light shines on the backdrop.  So there's a ring of light right on the game itself.  Really annoying.

Yeah, it's just a light shield.

I used some aluminum foil to keep the light from shining through my speaker grille.
