trackball problems in my mame machine

when im in advmame i cannot get a trackball to work in any game. how do i get this to work.

You need to enable mouse input in the mame.ini.  If you do not have a mame.ini, run "mame.exe -cc" to create one.   Then set "mouse" to "1" under the input device options.

I was having mouse issues in advmame and linux.  If you are runnig linux it may be a permissions thing.

See the advmame docs for how to set up advmame.rc for the mouse type and so forth
what os are you using?
