Inexpensive, smaller, LCD displays?
« on: July 15, 2004, 09:38:17 pm »
Guys, does anyone know of a decent source for LCD "monitors" that can be used to make mini-mames?

I'm talking LCD's that do, say, 800x600 and are maybe 10-12" diagonal tops....

Am i going to run into major ghosting issues with MAME games if I were to make a "mini mame" using one of these as a display?

I've seen 12" LCD displays as low as $150......and I suppose I could use one of those, but no sense spending th emoney if the image is going to be abyssmal....

Thoughts?

I've got a small 12" 1024x768 monitor here that I could probably get to be even smaller if I removed the case, but its still on the big and clunky side....

Hmmm.....looks like I'm not going that route ;)

I wonder if anyone has tried any of the 12" cheapie LCD's...the ones with like 100ms refresh rates that you could never use for a FPS but could use just fine, potentially, for MAME......

I mean, my only concern is buying a $150 flatscreen LCD monitor for $150 bucks and finding out its screen refresh is so slow that games are unusable on it, nad its only good for word processing and web-browsing......
