Splicing Wire Help
« on: July 07, 2004, 01:59:37 pm »
Hey guys,
I am troubled. I just drilled two new button holes on the side of my control panel for Vpinmame. My plan was to splice 2 other buttons into these so that I can have more of an authentic feel. I have spliced before, ie) my player 1 mame joystick and 2 buttons are spliced to 1 8way joy, and one 4 way.. works perfect. I also spliced my 2 coind buttons as well.

For some reason when i try to splice other buttons they dont work... i tested my wiring works fine, but only one button will work.... ie) BUTTON 8 works fine when wired....i splice to the new VPBUTTON and only VPBUTTON works.....very weird.

Any advise??? or suggestionS? I Have no more room on the ipac so one button per switch is not an option :(

Thanks
JIM

Are you wiring in parallel and not series?
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Hello wish i knew what the heck that means... i have a connector i wire ground to the one furthest from the little red push button and then wire the button to the middle connector on the switch..so when i press button it says "on" otherwise off. MOST grounds are daisy chained, when i want to add buttun i just add ground wire to existing chain?

It looks like something happened to my ipac :( one button is not working, i have tried the wires/switch combo on all others and it works fine..can the part where u screw in the wire on ipac burnout? i am affraid i may need a new one

thanks
Jim
