Arkanoid high score information...

Hey Ya'll,

As some of you know, I am restoring an Arkanoid and I was wondering if anyone out there knows which chip/IC on the PCB holds the high score infromation.  It always resets to a default everytime I power cycle it.  I thought I would look for a datasheet on the chip to see which pins I could solder a battery to.  I have already looked up some of the bigger chip numbers on google and it seems many of them are in the obscure file now.  If anyone has any suggestions, let me, know.

You might see if there is a battery on your board.  If you find one, replace it.  I beleive that is what maintains the high scores.

By using Mame (since it is a documentation project after all) and the hiscore.dat file, I would guess chip a75_11.  However, the game does change these locations to the default values after powering up.  What this means is even if you battery backup the chip, the program will still put the default values into that chip overwriting your battery backedup values.

Thanx for the info.  I located the chip right away.  That is a real bummer.  I wonder how I could do a workaround short of keeping 5V on the entire board.  Would there be a way to keep the default from being written to that chip? Hmmmmmmm.  Thanx again man.  Good information Bro, thanx.
