Sanwa mounting in metal panel
« on: July 01, 2004, 04:53:25 am »
Hello.

I have an old metal control panel, which I want to restaurate.

I plan to mount SANWA parts in it , the panel has 12 (2x6) 30mm button holes and two 24mm button holes, these holes fits exactly with the SANWA push buttons.

I have a doubt in the joystick mount (I never mounted josticks in metal panels). I plan to buy JLF-TP-8Y SANWA joysticks, I have two SANWA mounting plates (the flat ones) but the problem is that the metal panel has one spacer to mount the joystick that separates them from the panel 1cm (0,4"). I included a pic of the panel separator.

I cant put away this separator from the panel because then Ill destroy the vinyl overlay.

My question is that SANWA sticks are designed to be mounted separated 1cm from the control panel or if they have to be mounted directly touching the panel.

Thanks

I'm not exactly sure what sticks you're talking about, but I have some Sanwa J-Stiks which are usually mounted flush to the CP.

Do you have any pics of your stick?

I still dont have the sticks, a friend of mine is in Japan and Ill get them when hes back.

They are the typical SANWA JLF-TP-8YT with flat plate.

I dont know if this 1cm separator will be a problem...  :(
