MAME - with a twist
« on: June 30, 2004, 11:20:03 am »
Long time reader, firs time poster.

First I would like to state how awesome this site nad the members of the site are.  I have learned so much in the time have been reading this site.

                                     My Project

I will be building a MAME cabinet with a twist.  To preface, I have already built a Barmonkey (www.barmonkey.net).  A group of college kids decided to build a box that could make mixed drinks.  I went a step further and made a portable Barmonkey that runs off of CO2 and a laptop.  You select the drink i.e. long island tea, and my barmonkey will make it in around 10 seconds.

My first version will be called the 'BeavArcade' - last name is Beaver.  My second version will be the 'BeerCade'.  My MAME machine will be in my basement/gameroom/bar It will be a fully functional MAME machine with cup holders on the side.  These cupholders will have taps/spouts above them.  An arcade button can be used to poor a beer or you will be able to launch a frontend that has the choice of your beverage.  An all-in-one true cocktail cabinet.

I know a lot of people on here are true "keep the arcade stock", but I feel this will be a neat project.

Please let me know what you think.

If you have any questions about my project or the Barmonkey I built, please let me know.  I have pictures on my website I just need re-organize a bit.

I like projects with the look and feel of a real arcade game, however it is also nice to see the ones that are over the top and different.  So I am excited to see how yours turns out....good luck

also, beer goes right through me, how bout a urinal on the front so I never have to move? ;) ;D

I was thinking maybe the barstool could just be a toilet with legs.

If you can make it look like a Tapper cab that would be awesome!!!!!
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.
