Aurora, IL 15 various cabinets
« on: June 29, 2004, 02:35:30 pm »
I bought a pile of cabinets last fall and now I need some garage space back.  All the cabinets were completely stripped before I got them so they are pretty much just ply-wood boxes, but they make great mame cabs.  I paid 39$ each for them.  So I'll sell for 35$ each.  I've got a pretty solid mix of pacman, centipede, Nintendo play-choice, and some neat odd-ball machines.  If you are at all interested you can e-mail me at phil@hproductions.com, or leave me a message at 630.965.1772.  I'll try to find a way to post pictures later, but for now if you are local you can swing by and take a look in the evenings.

Thanks, Phil Howard

Ok, the interest seems pretty strong for these.  5 have already left but I've still got some good ones.  A couple notes; 2 of the cabinets are poker machines if I can get 30$ for the pair that'd be great.  The really interesting one of the lot is a vindicator tank game.  At any rate I'm posting some pictures I took this evening, as of this writing I have the following cabinets available.

2 poker
1 pacman
1 Rally-X (I'm not sure what it origenally was)
2 Nintendo Play-Choice
1 Centipede
1 Vindicators (wierd tank type cab)
1 Donkey Kong cocktail

If you are still interested call me or send me an e-mail as per the first post.  I'll be available tommorrow from 6-10 PM if you'd like to pick some up.

Thanks, Phil Howard

***UPDATE 6/30*****
Both the Nintendo cabs and the Centepede have been taken, these are going fast if anyone else is interested.  If I've still got them by early next week I'm going to start posting the remainders to ebay.

Thanks, Phil Howard

I picked up a centipede cabinet from Phil last night and must say he was a pleasure to do business with.  He was extremely friendly and even helped me load the game into my jeep.  If you are thinking of buying one from Phil, I recommend him 100%.

I picked up four cabs: Centipede, Pac Man, unknown cabaret and some other standard unknown cabinet.  They are dirty, but in decent condition.  So now I've got five upright and three cocktail project cabinets in the garage, and one working upright and one working cocktail in the basement.  I believe this has crossed over the hobby/illness line!

I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

I just starting inspecting the Centipede cabinet.  It is particle board and has virtually no damage (except for the partially removed side art and a couple of tiny chips that could have happened during moving process).  I don't know how it is possible to have an old particle board cabinet in such good shape.

It may take me a while to turn any of these into working cabinets, but I'll likely get a base coat of paint on a couple of them soon.

I got one of the other Centipede cabinets and I have to agree, great conditions.  I started cleaning it out yesterday.  Still had power supply, harnesses, etc.  no water damage and very solid construction.  I was going to MAME it, as the side art was spray painted by some evil B#$%#^&, but as I was cleaning it out and removing the wires I changed my mind, as the cabinet is too nice to waste on a MAME.  So If anyone has any Centipede parts in chicago for sale, please email me.  Michaelsmith8 at sbcglobal.net.

Remember..

you can mame a machine without harming the cabinet at all.

get the sideart and the marquee..  Dont' add any new buttons / sticks...

this allows you to have all trackball games (for instance) going well without having to get the centipede boards ect.

And you can restore it any time in the future you want.

Well the cab has no CP so I could fit one in without harming the cabinet.  That being said, I can always go out and find a cabinet from a non-classic game, or build one myself.  Ultimately, it just feels better to restore the game.  I am hoping I can remove the paint, based on some advice I got from the newsgroups.  Wish me luck.  If I can't then I will strip, sand and buy repro or NOS if I can find one (probably repro as NOS is a little out of my price point).
