how do you wire dual joysticks for gajmes like robotron? one joystick to player 1 and the oither to player two?

If you have an IPAC/4 , you would wire the second stick to the player 3 inputs. That is the default setup for the game. However, you can always remap them to anything you want, so you could reconfigure the game to use the 2nd player input instead. It's up to you.

You can wire the joysticks to any input you want.

In MAME - instead of P1_UP, you will see P1LeftUp, P1LeftLeft, etc. and P1RightUp, P1RightRight, etc.

Set the P1Left inputs in MAME to the Left Joysticks keycodes and the P1Right inputs in MAME to the Right Joysticks keycodes and you're all set.
