WTB: Pushbuttons and joysticks!
« on: June 17, 2004, 12:55:57 am »
I need to buy a lot of NEW Competition long pushbuttons and 8-way joysticks of all colors.

What site has the lowest price going right now?  I've checked Happcontrols, therealbobroberts.com, gatorcade.com, etc. but the cheapest is $1.45 per button.  And I've purchased them from as low as $0.97 per button in the past, so I don't feel like paying much more.  Any ideas?

I also need 3 inch Golden Tee trackballs, 27" VGA arcade monitors, T-molding, etc, etc. etc. But I have good sources for those already.

Thanks!

http://www.x-arcade.com/arcade_joystick.shtml

Has a deal, 18 black push buttons, a player 1 button, a player 2 button, and 2 8-way sticks for $20 (+shipping)

I bet you can't get much cheaper than that...

Is price your only concern?

Do you want the cheapest price period? Or cheapest Happs parts?

I've read that the x-arcade parts are not the best...actually crap.

I personally got my parts from tornadoterrydot of eBay.  +++ on price & service. :D

eBay.  Either as mentioned above, or 123gumby123

I have a couple of the X-Arcade sticks and several of their pushbuttons and they are of acceptale quality IMO, for the price. The butons are nearly indistinguishable from my Happs butons. You can tell the diference betwen the sticks and my Happs comps, but I also paid about 1/2 over what I paid for my Happs equipment and got more buttons.

I currently have one cab running only X-Arcade controlls and I have no complaints with them. My higher-end cap IS going to have Happs Comps and pushbuttons, however.

Go with Peale's suggestion, and get them off ebay. I asked this question a while ago here, and Peale suggested 123gumby123 - I got my buttons from him a few days ago, they a true Happs and are magic compared to the x-arcade parts. I got some of there buttons from a guy here in Australia, and compared to happ's, there crap.

Its not so much the button, which looks almost identical, its the micro-switch. The happ's are almost silent & the x-arcades have a LOUD and annoying clicking sound. Im going to get some new microswitches for them and there'll be fine. Hope this help's

123gumby123 and tornadoterrysdot are both excellent sellers but gumby recently raised button prices. And even though he doesn't advertise them tornadoterry carries comp buttons. Shipping is lightning quick too. A bit quicker than gumby. I recommend terry.
