Cocktail Glass & Smoked Glass
« on: June 14, 2004, 01:24:30 am »
I'm looking for insite into where I use just clear tempered glass, and where I use smoked glass.  My understanding is that smoked glass definitely goes over the monitor, but does it go over the whole top as well?  ie. Is the top piece all one big piece of smoked glass, or is it clear, with a piece of smoked glass fitted underneath just covering the monitor?

My concern with using smoked glass on the whole thing would be that the graphics on the top would be muted compared to the graphics on the rest of the cab.

Thanks for any input!

From what I read in past threads, if you want to use clear glass, use a piece of smoked plexi over the monitor.

I have 1 piece of smoked glass over my entire cocktail top, I don't find that it mutes the graphics. Granted I don't have graphics, but rather a few stickers under my glass. Even if I had to do it over again and had some graphics, I still use just one piece of smoked glass over the entire top.

Hello,

Just get the little smoked piece that goes right over the monitor. DO NOT get smoked cocktail glass. If you are using a standard arcade overlay(ie Pac-Man) it WILL mute the colors. Plus, it's not authentic(if you care)

Clear glass and smoked overlay.

peace

Thanks for the info koolmoecraig.  That's sort of what I thought, but I wanted some confirmation.
