Started cutting, now need CP parts advice
« on: June 13, 2004, 09:30:46 pm »
Today marked the official beginning of my mame cabinet. I made most of the cuts(some not so straight...opps) and since I work during the week and have some masonry projects to do I would like to order my control panel parts now so that I may make up a few mock cardboard models to test them out before I cut out the wood for it.

I know I am going to be using 3 t-sticks and 1 t-stick plus, bunches of buttons, and an I-PAC4. I know I can order all those items from Ultimarc, but I was curious if there were any cheaper sources.

I have seen many auctions/buy now items on Ebay such as this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=6101938382&rd=1#ebayphotohosting
These are the same buttons as Happs so I figured it was a good deal, am I wrong?

I have also heard many many people Bob roberts as a source, but I was only able to find "leaf" switches on his site. I honestly would perfer the microswitch.

A speedy delivery isnt parimount and I just want to get the best deal so any information you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

I am so terribly excited about my cabinet coming together. You guys are a great community and have helped more than you know.

Bob roberts has microswitch buttons. I just ordered some from him last week.

Bob listed that's he's discontinuing the microswitches, so if they were there last week, they might not be there this week.

No idea WHY, but that's what the site said <shrug>

They're still there, but . . .

Happ Microswitch Pushbuttons R/G/B/W/Y/P/O/BLK
Closing out Happ buttons so colors are limited to stock.
$1.45

OTOH, that E-bay link was $1.25, not necessarily Happ buttons, but they have Cherry switches, which I've always heard are good, so . . .

Also, Happ had buttons on sale for $1.00 a few months ago, but don't know if that will repeat.

Thank you guys, I think I will just order them along with my T-Sticks because any other method only saves me $10.
