Happ Super Joystick install concern
« on: August 05, 2002, 07:11:44 pm »
I am building my first cabinet (yay!).  I ordered 2 Happ Super Joysticks, 6 buttons per person, and player 1/player 2 buttons.  I recieved these all today.  My questions is regarding the joysticks.

I haven't actually assembled the control panel at all yet, but the joystick seems to be not long enough.  If I assemble the joystick as shown exactly in the picture on Happs website the little clip at the bottom can only clip on the last ring.  The problem with this is that the hourglass shaped thing slides down, out of range of the microswitches.  When I use the longer shaft I cannot put the clip on at all.  What am I doing wrong?  I'm sure it's my own oversight but it befuddles me to no end!

Thanks a bunch!

Chris

I believe I know exactly what you're problem is, more and more people seem to be having this problem.  Ok, when you put the actuator on the joystick, push it up so that that metal thing it rests on is being pushed up into the joystick shaft, don't worry, this won't hurt it at all, it's how it was meant to be put on.  When you do that it should fit perfectly, and move around with any problems.
