Pacman wiring question
« on: June 07, 2004, 12:57:37 pm »
I have this Pacman machine that is near finished, but there is one small problem that I was hoping someone could help me out with.

I bought a new switching ps/wiring harness from Arcade Shop.

I also bought a coin door from Bob Roberts that originally come from a Ms Pacman. So as I assumed correctly, the wiring is a little different. So when I plug the coin door to the new harness it goes into test mode and if you trip the coin switch it resets and doesn't come back on until you unplug the thing.

I know I could probably look at the 2 wiring diagrams and figure it out, but It would take me days!! I HATE electronics and hydraulics too for that matter... >:(

Could someone in plain English explain where to rewire the Coin door connector? I assume the new harness is wired just like the original connector.

There should be a switch on the door to switch it.

There should be a switch on the door to switch it.

HUH?

The test switch that was inside the door is long gone. This cab was pretty hacked up when I got it, hence the new wiring harness.

So on the door is the 2 coin switches and slam switch.

In a Pacman cabinet the test switch and service (Free) credits switches are mounted on a small sheet metal panel located on the right side of the cabinet when you open the coin door. On a Ms. Pacman coin door Midway put the test /service switches on a sheet metal bracket attached to the coin door near the hinge side. It was never attached to the coin door on a Pacman, hence the wiring harness differences.

So, should I just rewire the door harness to match the main wiring harness? Since this door doesn't have the switches anymore.
