After a CP is finished, how hard is it to add...

A trackball and spinner?

A 3/4" with Formica CP at that.

The reason I ask is because I have been thinking about the immediate necessity of both to my MAME cabinet and they're both low.  The reason is, although there are some great Single Player games especially for the Spinner, the majority of all action will be for multiplayer via joysticks for the immediate playing time.

Basically I can live without both for a little while.

It will have a dedicated classics stick at the top however.

Also, if I did decide to add maybe 1 now, what should I go for?  I was thinking Spinner.

My main concern overall is the formica.

As long as you have the real estate on your CP, it shouldn't be that hard.  The difficulty comes in removing all of your other controls while you make the necessary cuts.

Trackball: I'm guessing if your panel is laminated, you will want to have a mounting plate lying on top of the hideous holes you are about to route into your panel, but it would work OK.

Spinner: from what I've read, VERY easy: drill a single hole for the spinner, then mount it underneath; a few small screws into the underside of your CP will stabilize it.

So you should be able to do so.  Good luck, but plan well ahead...
