Buying from Wico
« on: August 02, 2002, 02:42:27 pm »
I've been looking for the long translucent leaf switch buttons and the only place I can find them that has consistent stock is Wico.  I was wondering how difficult it was to order from Wico as an individual.

I also saw on Ebay that X-Gaming is selling its branded joysticks and buttons, but not for much less than you can buy on their site with shipping included.

I didn't have any problems, but I didn't have to worry about a minimum $ limit ('cause I spent too much ;) ).  I don't know if wico has a minimum.  Call up their 800 number and ask them.  I recomend ordering by phone, too.

Funny you should say "consistent stock".  I've had the worst time getting parts from Wico than any other arcade parts vendor.  Whenever I've placed orders, at least 2 or 3 items out of 10 were out of stock and had to be back ordered.  I've been waiting for some backordered pinball switches for over 4 months now, and every time I call, they are still out of stock.  I'm glad I'm not in a hurry for them....

I don't know about their arcade pushbuttons, maybe they keep those readily onhand.
As far as ordering as an individual, no problem.  No minimum either, I think.... I always have the same problem as u_rebel, I order too much.

Hmm.  I had the opposite.  When I ordered, they said one of the things was out of stock, so the order would be shipped later (I was in no hurries, either).  But a week later, all the stuff were on my door step in one package, and shipping by UPS ground takes 5 business days for me.  Was surprised (but happy) I got it so quickly.

LOL.  I only need one small thing, but "they have so much cool stuff." [child's_voice=off]  Glad I'm not rich, or else I would buy everything.  (Well, not everything, but I have too much junk already, and I'm not rich.)
